Ever since childhood I’ve been keen on dancing. At the age of 11 I attended school for Latin American dance, for almost one year. My passion for Salsa was born from the first moment when I saw several couples gracefully moving under the sound of Cuban music in one small studio here in Sofia some 4 years ago. I was totally fascinated with the beauty of movements, sensual rhythm and the way people enjoyed themselves while dancing. I’ve been part of Salsa Con Miguel Team ever since its foundation, some 7 months ago. We have had many shows and competitions on stage as we have participated with different styles- Casino, LA. We are proud of our Ladies show which had great success.

Personal information: I am from Stara Zagora, but I’ve been living in Sofia for more than 7 years already. I started dancing Latin American style when I was about 20 years old and practiced three months when I had to start studying my second education which would take all my free time so I left dancing for later on. Three years from then I finished my graphics design education and I had time enough to do what I like even more than design – dancing. One year passed in the rhythm of Latin American and Standard dance when I found out about the existence of Salsa. Its vitality and sensuality made me change my style. Since then two years have passed. I started participating on stage, representing Salsa con Miguel, three months after I got involved into salsa passion. I have been on stage with my team with Lady Style, LA Style and Cuban Style (rueda).

When a friend of mine took me to a salsa club in Sofia, my first thought was: “This is my kind of place!!!” This happened more than five years ago and ever since Salsa has been an essential part of my life. I’ve seen people coming and going, dancing fashions shifting from Casino to LA and finally New York. One thing remained unchanged though – the sparkling eyes of those who move in the rhythm of Salsa always cast an unbreakable spell over everyone who has once tasted the magnificence of this fascinating dance.
I have been dancing in Salsa Con Miguel ever since I started my Salsa ‘career’ and participated in several shows in different styles – LA and Rueda de Casino, including the first official demonstration of the school in the summer of 2004 in Salsa Plus Club in Sofia.

Personal information: My name is Miguel Rodriguez. I am from Guantanamo, Cuba, but I’ve been living in Bulgaria for 21 years. In the middle of 1986 I organized and presented one Rueda show in Veliko Tyrnovo. That was the beginning of my salsa professional experience. I have participated in many workshops abroad as an instructor In 1996 I established my first dance school in Sofia. A few years later, in 2001 Salsa con Miguel school was formed where I was teaching together with my partner – Rossy. We are proud to say that our school is one of the biggest in Sofia, we have lots of students, some of the best of them (Salsa con Miguel Team) represent us on stage.
